Approved strategy for the development of the youth policy of Rezekne

With Rēzekne District Council Decision No. 223 (prot. No 10, § 20) is an approved strategy for the development of youth policy in 2022-2025.

Vision - Rezekne municipality is an environment for young people who contribute to the development of young people as well-developed, educated, healthy and socially provided members of society, who implement their own initiatives by actively participating in decision-making processes – in the political, economic and social life of their parish and Rezekne.

Target – supporting youth work, improving the quality of life of young people, promoting their initiatives, active participation in decision-making and political, economic and social life.

Taking into account the lines of action included in the Guidelines for Youth Policy 2021-2027, the development of the youth field and the achievement of the target in Rezekne municipality, several priorities are set:

• participation of young people, inclusion;
• awareness of young people;
• non-formal education;
• improving the leisure, social and living skills of young people;
• youth employment and entrepreneurship.

One of the most important tasks in the next four years is to develop mobile work with young people so that young people have the opportunity to participate in activities closer to their place of residence, as well as a consultative Commission for Youth Affairs of Rezekne, which aims to promote the development and implementation of youth policy in the municipality, as well as promote participation of young people in decision-making and public life.

A local government budget project for the next year, which reflects planned youth activities and project competitions, as well as the funding allocated to them in accordance with the programme for the development of the youth policy of Rezekne, is being developed for work with youth in Rezekne municipality.
