The church of Rezekne will also participate in “church night”

A cultural event “Church Night” will be held in Latvia for a second year. This year, “church night” events will take place on 5 June. From the Rēzekne municipality, THERE will be Feimaņu St. John's Church and prayer of the Old Believers of Camppies, and the congregation is the first to allow visitors to meet the faithful traditions of the Old Believers and the history of the house of prayer.

At the first “church night” in Riga, 43 gods took part in Riga in 2014 and visited more than 20 thousand people. There were excursions and narratives in the churches, which made it possible to enjoy the spiritual and cultural values of architectural and art beauty. At the time of midnight, the musics of the organ and Cora, the soldiers, the vocal groups and the ensembles, took place on excursions, exhibitions and poetry reading. The large number of visitors of the event, responsiveness and interest in the event, encouraged organisers (a group of interconfessional members – foundation “foundation church night”) to extend the geographical spread of the event and go outside Riga by organising “church night” in Latvia's municipality.

The idea of the church's night has come from Austria and the Czech Republic. 10 years ago, the church's night was started in Austria as an ecumenical event organised by Christian church confessions and threats. Soon thereafter, the event also took place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Since 2012, the church's night is also held in Tartu, Estonia, since 2014.
