On Tuesday, December 1, a selection tournament for classroom 5-9 of Latgale region was taken as the Latvian school chess Olympics continued. 16 participants from 10 different schools participated in the competition.
The tournament took place after THE FIDE rules and the Swiss system, with a reflection time of 10 minutes + 2 seconds per participant until the end of the party.
Christine Georgenova (12 points, Maltas secondary school, class 6a) was the champion of girls in competition, leaving Janet Club from Rezekne and League Elise Normanti, who represented the class 5a of Tilja High School.
Latvian chess federation congratulates the tournament winners and reminds that any competitor who has fulfilled all the conditions of registration has the opportunity to qualify for a prize regardless of the results shown in the tournament. 5 prizes are played on each of the tournaments. The prizes are selected on the “smart prize for smart pupil”.
