Latgale Planning Region launches the second round of the open grant project competition
The Latgale Planning Region launches an open project competition “Support for the implementation of business ideas in Latgale” under the second round of the EEA Grants 2014-2021 programme “Local development, poverty reduction and cultural cooperation”.
On April 1, 2022, the Latgale Planning Region has launched an application FOR THE EEA Grants 2014-2021 programme “Local development, poverty reduction and cultural cooperation” in the open project competition “Support for the implementation of business ideas in Latgale”, where it will be possible to receive support for business development by 2024, implementing new business ideas and creating jobs in Latgale region.
It was previously informed that the initial call for tenders was concluded in September 2021. “Support for the implementation of business ideas in Latgale” was evaluated by the Commission in cooperation with independent experts. The Latgale Planning Region, as a grant scheme manager, has now concluded 8 project contracts for business development and creation of new jobs. With the aid granted, at least 8 new jobs and a diversified product assortment will be created, new and improved services already exist in tourism, information technology, catering, wood processing, etc.
In the second round of the competition, almost all business areas will be supported and any natural and legal person (small or micro-enterprise) who carries out his economic activity in Latgale region may apply for support. Project applicants will be able to receive support for the creation of new products or services, the improvement of existing products, the substantial increase in production capacity or the substantial change in production processes as well as the improvement of the efficiency of existing services in the implementation of a new business idea.
The programme co-financing available for the competition is: 457 625,01 THE co-financing available for each project shall be between EUR 5000 and EUR 10 000. The aid intensity of co-financing shall not exceed 55% of the total eligible costs of the project. This support will continue to implement the action plan for the economic growth of Latgale region.

Project applications may be submitted to the Latgale Planning Region from 1 April to 1 June 2022.
