The field day, for thirteen times!

It is said that thirteen is an unhappy number, however, this year, the last year (now thirteen) field day Viļānos is overturned. If more than 70 different traders and representatives of the agricultural sector participated in the last year event, this year the number of participants exceeded 200, while the number of visitors is more than a thousand people.

As a year, visitors had the opportunity to observe the latest and most topical demonstration of agricultural techniques, both with the latest crop and rape and hemp-growing technologies. 15 arable crops and 216 different varieties, as well as an opportunity to consult and find out the vision and opinion of the experts of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union – such an opportunity for each interested party to offer the largest field day in Latvia. It is, of course, not possible to forget the craftsmen's trade, where visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the gardeners and 100% real ice cream, as well as to purchase Latgolys student centre expenses, ceramic articles, different plants and more.

The field day co-operation partner - regional Rezekne High School rector Edmunds Turumnieks said that such a measure is a great opportunity for young people to be interested in the agricultural sector, since there is more than a picture book and theories available here, everything is real and tangible. On the other hand, the President OF the Rēzekne municipality, Monvīds Švarcs, first thanked Mrs Venerandas Stramkales, who has continued to organise this event for several years and, secondly, concluded that every year, the rural day is becoming more popular and more demanding, so that the agricultural sector is also seen.
