Project Short Name: BELLA CUISINE

Project Partners:
 Rēzekne District Council, Dagda District Council, Dagda District Council, Ludza District Council, Executive Committee of the Polocka City Council, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Division of the Executive Committee of the Lepeel District Committee, Glubokoje District Executive Committee of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, Council of Members of the Verhnedvinsk District, Council of Miora District Members, International Cooperation Development Support Foundation “Interact”.

General purpose of the project
 promoting socio-economic development, supporting business and business development, promoting the concept of culinary heritage.
Specific purpose of the project is the improvement of the service service in Latgale and Vitebsk regions, based on the concept of culinary heritage and the development of entrepreneurship and trade, raising the capacity of catering institutions in both regions, contributing to the further development of traditional kitchen and the establishment of an international culinary heritage BELLA CUISINE centre.

Total budget of the project:
 483 195,05 EUR. From this amount, 90% - 434 875.54 EURO is the support of the European Union.
Project period: 18 months.
The project includes 4 activity groups:
Activity group I: management, coordination and communication:
  • 3 organisation of meetings of the Steering Group meetings (Kraslava, Polocca and Dagda) and 6 project implementation groups (Kraslava, Lepou, Aglona, Polocca, Dagda, Verhnedvinsk);
  • Organisation of the final conference of the project in Kraslava (2 days, 60 participants);
  • Preparation and insertion of 45 press releases in 9 portals (5 press releases per portal): www.aglona.lv, www.kraslava.lv, www.dagda.lv, www.rezeknesnovads.lv, www.ludza.lv, www.latgale.lv, www.polotskgik.by, www.vitebsk-region.by, www.belladvina.com.
Activity Group II: familiarisation of the European culinary heritage concept and increasing the capacity of catering institutions:
  • Participation of the Vitebsk region in the European culinary heritage network as a candidate.
  • Organisation of the joint information seminar in Polocka (2 days, 50 participants);
  • Organisation of exchange of experience on Skanes region in Sweden (4 days, 8 participants (7 project coordinators from Belarus and project manager));
  • Organisation of an exchange of experience on the Aukštaitia region in Lithuania (3 days, 38 participants (representatives of 30 Vitebsk caterers, 7 project coordinators from Belarus and project manager));
  • Organisation of an exchange of experience on Gotland region in Sweden (5 days, 35 participants (30 Latgale catering companies – 5 of Aglona municipality, 8 – from Kraslava municipality, 4 – from Dagda municipality, 9 – from Rezekne municipality, 4 – from Ludzas municipality), 4 project coordinators and project manager from Latgale);
  • Organisation of the experience exchange trip to Latgale region in Latvia (3 days, 37 participants (representatives of 30 Vitebsk caterers and 7 project coordinators from Belarus));
  • Training of Latgale and Vitebsk caterers in 3 themes:
  1. “Table and guest reception culture” (30 participants from Latgale and 30 participants from Vitebsk area);
  2. “Cooking food, recipes, cooking and presentation” (30 participants from Latgale and 30 participants from Vitebsk area);
  3. “Communication psychology” (30 participants from Latgale and 30 participants from Vitebsk district).
Activity Group III: Promoting the development of the culinary heritage (BELLA CUISINE):
  • Development of the total BELLA CUISINE route;
  • Development and publication of common marketing materials:
  1. The publication of THE BELLA CUISINE route description (12000 ecus, including 4000 in Latvian, 6000 in Russian and 2000 in English);
  2. Publication of THE BELLA CUISINE brochure with the names of the culinary heritage companies of Latgale and Vitebsk district (12000 ecus, including 4000 in Latvian, 6000 in Russian and 2000 in English);
  • Promotion of BELLA CUISINE in 3 tourist exhibitions: “Balttour” in Riga, “Otdih” in Minsk and “Otdih without granic” in St. Petersburg;
  • Organisation of the total 4 festivals with cultural heritage themes in Rezekne, Polocka, Ludza and Kraslava.
  • Publication of 20 articles, including 10 articles in Latvian and 10 articles in the Belarusian media.

Activity Group IV: Establishment of an international culinary heritage BELLA CUISINE centre in Kraslava.
