This year, the “clothing design and technology” of the first level vocational higher education programmes of the Rēzekne Technology Academy (RTA) was graduated by four professional clothing designers, including the Rēzekne municipality. The stories of their experiences inspire.

FOR THE RTA graduate, Ozolaines parish-resident Sandra Zager, the time of his studies, as she acknowledged, made it possible to understand what particular niche needed to be successful. She also invites others who have a creative world, a desire to work in the field of clothing design, start studying in this study program. “I knew i wanted to work in this industry, but i also realized that i couldn't cover all the clothes for everyone, we had to choose one particular direction.” Of course, in the future, the clothing assortment can also be expanded. The studio helped to select a particular niche, to supplement knowledge, to realize his ideas in the course of the study, and to move me forward, allowing me to believe my forces and ideas, ”says Sandra.

THE RTA graduate from Rezekne Municipality is THE parish of Vērēmu, Maria Spruukte: “Study RTA – a great opportunity to learn something new, complete yourself and don't stuck everyday” this time, perhaps his role in studying 'the fact that studios are here in Rezekne and are offered comprehensive training courses within a 2.5-year programme. Studios were very intensive – training, exhibitions, projects, events etc. Time seemed very saturated with various kinds of activities. Looking back, 2.5 years – a short period of time, but so much events, work, experience, ”the graduate.

During the course of the study, Maria's initial vision of the development of clothing and the processes associated with it has changed: “I have to admit that not always posted on paper is so easy to realize.” It is necessary to understand the design, the possibilities of modelling, the way in which it or another intention is to be implemented. Often, in the course of the work, the originally intended realization takes place in a very different appearance. As a result of the studies, i can experiment more closely with material, clipping, and realize ideas that have previously only been sketched or at the level of ideas. There is a broader picture of the design possibilities of the material and the use of different technologies. 'Marie believes that the greatest benefit of her studies is the people found in the study OF RTA: “I am grateful to those people who were with me that time, those who were able to give positive energy, motivated, inspired and supported – both the academic staff and the students. Even though it seems that too much time and time too little, support and encouragement have given further impetus and advance, and the final result is pleased that the work has been done. Study time activities have also made it possible to familiarise themselves with the great responsiveness of THE STAFF of THE RTA Laser Centre, the help of both the implementation of the various training projects and the development of the final work.

Rhozekniete Ilze Unzule says that she has decided to study in this programme because she has an important constant movement, creativity and self-expression in art and design. “When I was studying in this program, i felt that the opportunity was as much as i had never realized.” One idea complements the other, and the people they meet inspire to do. During his studies i knew people who actually worked in the field of clothing design and that is inspiring. I hope to carefully formulate my latest idea and realize it, "Ilze says about the experience gained during his studies.

Ilze recommends that others study directly in this study programme, explaining their opinion with the successful study courses: “at the time of the studies it did not seem that something would be redundant. All courses are closely linked to each other, so that students are offered the opportunity to further strengthen their knowledge and practice. One task can be the basis for the next, the practical tasks and the theoretical material, when the studies are started, are intentionally directed so that a qualification work is done at the end of a small step. Ideally, if students come with an idea that could be developed during their studies. It is also necessary to provide the competent teachers who provide knowledge, encourage and encourage new works. Support and motivation go hand-in-hand with studios throughout the years of study. 'Ilze also lists other enriching and important activities that enable future professionals to be aware of their abilities and to supplement knowledge: student science conferences, exhibitions, fashion views, competitions and participation in various projects, the possibility of operating IN THE RTA laser technology centre and engineer faculty laboratories where 3D printing printers and many other equipment useful for testing and processing textile materials are available. THE RTA graduate stresses that it is possible to combine creativity with modern technologies when studying in the academy.

Graduate from Livans, Krista Veigure developed a qualification work for “textiles technology synthesis in women's dress design”. As regards the benefits of study time, Christ says that they are the creative process, the opportunity to learn something new, collaboration with commissioning parties within the project, participation in both art exhibitions and scientific practical conferences. “When everything fell out of my hands,” and it felt like a squirrel in the wheel, to do everything in time, was always provided by both the faculty and the courier. Thank them very much for this, "says the graduate.
