Eastern Latvian Technology Secondary School is established in Rezekne

At the meeting of the Senate of Rēzekne High School (RA), on 19 June, the issue of the establishment of a new general educational institution was considered. At the meeting, it was decided that the University of Rezekne would open the Eastern Latvian Technology Secondary School for the implementation of the mathematics, natural sciences and technology directions of general secondary education.
The secondary school location will be the liberation alley 90. The school will be able to learn young people from classes 10 to 12. Rēzekne High School rector Edmunds Turumnieks notes that the aim of the school will be to create a creative and high-quality educational environment FOR learning subjects of STEM (natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics), to organise and implement a qualitative educational process that ensures the achievement of the educational objectives laid down in the national secondary education standard. “In view of the fact that the Higher School of Rezekne can provide students with access to modern laboratories, highly qualified teachers and work in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia, young people will receive high quality education for their future careers in the Eastern Latvian Secondary School. During training with students, students will be able to participate in scientific work, be able to attend laboratories, carry out research, these opportunities“ classic ”secondary schools shall not be provided,” E.Turumnieks emphasizes.
