25.07.2017

For young people

Rēzekne is led BY a Dricānu youth association “LOBS”, in collaboration with Carsava's Municipality, “The School Youth Centre“ Pugga ”and Daugavpils municipality, Naujpils Youth and Sport Centre, realizes the project“ Vitvuordu stuosti in Latgola ”. The project is implemented within the framework of the State Culture Capital Foundation's target programme“ Latvian State Forests Support Latgale Culture Programme 2017 ”.

One of the most brightest features of the cultural environment is local names. They indicate the current population density in Latvia, and each local name has its own story and significance. Today, if you're not a historian, you don't look at the origin of the placeholders. Unable to disagree WITH THE quote of LKF member Aigara Liepiņa: “the rural environment is the only place to shelter the Latvian”. Already the original name of local names has been the storage and inheritance of place memory in the people.

The goal of the project “Vitvuordu stuosti Latgola” is the preservation of local names as an object of cultural environment and the directing information for future generations. In the course of the work, 3 municipalities will be filmed, 9 place names, combining media activities with the strengthening of intergenerational links. The association expects that the project will promote the interest of young people in the cultural environment of Latgale and its promotion. Active work is started in July and August, but the final result is expected in October 2017.

Darba grupa Ilzeskalna pagastā Darba grupa Dricānu pagastāThe first names of local names were taken in the municipality of Rēzekne Dricānu, Nagļu, Ilzeskalna and Audriņu. The housekeepers remembered and told their childhood adventures, father-in-law and history events. Truly deep and warm stories will also be reflected in the video material that will serve as an interactive and educational material for future generations.
