Busy September AT Kaunatas High School
In September, TWO important events took place at Kaunatas High School -- in early September, as in all Latvia, there was a day of poetry in the school, but at the end of the month the pupils took part in a safety week.
Poetry days
On September 16, pasākumu 3-4 of the event, “poetry and music” was directed by teacher velta, Podvinska and Maruta Chudare. On 22 September, a “poetry hour” was held on 22 September, led by the teacher Alexander Chuhnova and Maria Mukāne. 14.09 - 30.09 was a poetry-writing competition for “poetry day - 50” organised by the school librarian alla Silva. The school library saw the exhibition “Aspazija and Rainis” (composed by alla Silova). On 25 September, the poet, our leader, Martin Bikovsky, visited the school. “Do you read poetry?” Yes, but not just. It is a way to make life more interesting, more filled and more pleasant!
Safety Week
From 21 to 25 September, awareness-raising activities took place at the school to strengthen the basic knowledge of our school children and young people and to raise awareness of security. A school nurse, Yevgenia Katkovska, was guided by the school nurse Jevgenia Katkovska for the first medical aid for Classes 7a and 7b; Marie Fedoruk, the Minors' Inspector for Classes 3-4 and Classes 5-6, talked about safety on the Internet. VUGD inspector Oļegs Poskrjobishevs was conducted by VUGD inspector Oļegs Poskrjobishevs for classes 8-9 and 10-12.
The school took a game “be careful - be safe” - (www.dzimba.lv), cycling, interactive situations, short films - “violence and mobbing”, “nutrition training”.
“Health and safety on values can only become if theoretical knowledge is confirmed in safe behaviour, responsible action and health-supporting habits on a daily basis,” -- such a knowledge emerged after a safety week.
