Commencing winter reception for youth guarantees for free training
The adoption of documents for youth guarantees in a half-year or year-old education programmes where the qualification of the labour market in one of the 59 professions can be obtained free of charge. 24 vocational educational institutions throughout Latvia are waiting for students to receive the winter.
In the “youth guarantee” training, we are last offered to acquire a profession for a year and a half in educational programmes where young people with secondary or secondary vocational education can apply. As the Youth Guarantee project concludes in 2018, the young people will be able to apply for training in the summer of 2017 only in long-term vocational education programmes, ”says Elīna Purmati-Baumane, Director of Vocational Education Development Agency of the State Education Development Agency (VIAA).
During this winter of a year and a half, young people can choose to learn from 38 professions. Among these are popular professions such as accountants, mechanics, SpA specialists and rural estate manager. There may also be less demand among young people, but vocational training required in the labour market such as a printing technician, a floristic specialists, a builder, a bartender or a building design montied.
The offer also includes 21 professions, which can be learned during the year. These are the most popular occupations of the previous occupation as a cook, a hairdresser, a clerk, a locker and a welder, but young people are also expected to be in other qualifications, such as the stitch, the masonry, the bartender, the autolock and the motorsaw operator.
Young people must be between 17 and 29 years of age with primary school, secondary school or secondary vocational training in order to acquire a profession in vocational training programmes. A young man can work or be self-employed. Students who receive secondary education in distance learning, study part-time studies at universities or are on parental leave may also apply for training.
Training in a youth guarantee allows a scholarship from 70 to 115 euros per month, if the young person is successful, as well as the necessary training funds, a free space at the service hotel and a career support event. Training shall include a 15-week qualification practice during which travel expenses and accommodation are paid, if necessary.
Documents may be submitted to the selected vocational educational institution for a period of one and a half years by 6 January 2017, while in the years until 17 February.
