Direct transmission will be free to learn the language of the Latgalian characters
The association “LgSC” in cooperation with the Latgalian cultural news portal lakuga.lv calls for eight Latvian-language online free-to-air activities so that each of the wizards can learn more about the Latvian language and learn its basic principles.
Latvian language courses will be guided by one of the most knowledgeable Latvian language specialists, the Latgalical Book Korectore, the experience of language lessons, and the language expert Mars Mortuzane-Muravska. The language classes will be in two periods: spring and autumn. In the spring period, the Latvian language learning is scheduled for every Tuesday from 26 April at 19.00. The activities were scheduled for 10 May, 24 May and 7 June, but during the autumn period 6 September, 20 September, 4 October and 18 October.
The Latgalian characters will be able to participate in the activities of the language Facebook live-broadcast societies “LgSC” in profileas well as watching the Latgalian cultural news portal lakuga.lv and “LgSC” on the website lgsc.lv. The lesson is free, they will be able to participate without the knowledge of the Latvian language and how to correctly write what Latvian literary language and Latvian literary language differences will be able to learn at the time of the lesson. No pre-registration is required to participate in the activities.
The aim of the planned activities is to promote the public understanding of the Latvian language and to educate about the basic principles of the Latvian language language, which should be taken into account in order to ensure that the signed latgalically corresponds to the Latvian language centre “Latgalian script conditions” adopted in 2007 (more information HERE). As the language of Latgalian characters in general programmes of schools as a systematic subject of learning has not been taught for almost a hundred years, the overall level of language knowledge and understanding of it in Latvian society is very low. It is recalled that the Latvian language is defined as an historic form of Latvian language in accordance with Section 3, Paragraph 4 of the State Language Law and the State provides for preservation, protection and development thereof.

The association “LgSC” has been actively seeking to educate the public about the language of Latgalians for more than 15 years, focusing on its existence and development. The association maintains the only daily Latvian media - Latgalian cultural news portal lakuga.lv, organizes language courses and seminars, publishes expenditures of literary and educational content in Latgalically and implements other activities for the construction of Latgalian articles in the future.
