VUGD calls on farmers to be careful during the cultivation of cereals
This year, by September 2, there were already 39 agricultural machinery units, including 15 bombs, while in 2014 they burned 11 comb. The National Fire-Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) focuses on what is to be observed from the fire safety point of view, so that the fire is not outweighed and that they protect themselves and their properties.
In the past weeks, the number of fires associated with the harvesting of cereals increased sharply. That is, for example, on 11 August at 20.35 Fire-fighters hurried to the Olaine municipality, where it was burned. In the event of the event, the firefighters found that the kombains and cereals burned with an open flame of 40 square metres. Plumping. 22.19 The fire was eliminated and as its potential cause is a short circuit in the electrical device. On August 24, the municipality of Kubulu parish, on 25 August Kandava municipality, as well as the municipality of Bauska in the rural area of the Mezotnes, was burned on 24 August, and the grain field in the area of 8000 square metres and THE Viļānu in the parish of Sokolku in the area of one square metre and stubble on the field of 2 hectares of the cereals field, at 31 August Gulbenes municipality in the parish of Saint-meriena in the area of 15 square metres.
As a potential cause of fire in seven of these cases, firefighters rescue damage in the electrical system, but the exact causes of fire are explained by the state police.
In the neighbouring country in Lithuania, in 2014, the cereals bombed 17 times, but in 2015 it was 51 times. This results in a loss of more than €10 million for farmers. As causes, Lithuanian firefighters rescue defects in the electric system – 15 times, in the fuel system twice, but the remaining 34 are due to dust, dirt ignition.
Firefighters estimate that fires are going to save time and financial resources. Maintenance, routine cleaning from dust and pelaves, as well as trying to obtain more grain, is not subject to too low cutting height and the grain field is illuminated when there is a small spark. The benefit in this case is not the smallest speech, because one tonne of cereals cost around 180 euros, but one new comma pays around 100 thousand euros and more.
VUGD fire safety inspectors advise farmers, first, to carry out daily maintenance and service, to follow the maintenance of the hydraulic system, to monitor the absence of oil leakage. Secondly, control the exhaust exhaust system, which requires regular maintenance. And, Thirdly, check whether the spark damper is in the working order.
The cereals are intensively cultured when there is a dry time, so many fire hazard factors occur. Combustion in these conditions is spread so rapidly that the fire cannot be quickly eliminated. VUGD reminds that there must be a fire extinguisher. Fire safety inspectors recommend that a foam fire extinguisher be used in addition to safety, which will effectively suppress the roasting. It is also necessary to consider whether the number of fire extinguishers placed on the combyte is sufficient, as one fire extinguisher with a capacity of six litres will only be sufficient in the event of a slight delay.
VUGD reminds you that if there is a fire, call 112 immediately.
