Defence sector will thank the National Guard supporters

In February, the defence industry will win over 90 Latvian companies, municipalities, educational institutions and non-governmental organisations, calling for support to the National Guard in 2020.

“Voluntary support of Latvian companies, institutions and organisations to the National Guard is a good example of how Latvian citizens can participate in the implementation of comprehensive national defence. I would like to thank everyone for their diverse support to the National Guard, providing an indispensable contribution to strengthening Latvia's security,” says Defence Minister Artis Pabriks.

The “honorary article” of the Ministry of Defence will receive the 18 most active and responsive militants of the National Guard, nominated in nine nominations: “a company that has supported the National Guard as a whole”, “National Guard promoter”, “company“ celbaris ”,“ entrepreneur “National Guard veteran” ”;“ entrepreneur “motivator” “,“ association “support for national guardsmen” ”,“ entrepreneur “National Guard Strength” “,“ educational institution “educator of the National Guard” ”and“ local government “active National Guard supporter” ”.

Similarly, 73 Latvian companies, local governments, educational institutions and non-governmental organisations will receive thanks articles regarding the support given to the National Guard.

Representatives of the National Guard units shall be delivered to the National Guard's supporters by the Ministry of Defence.

Latvian companies, institutions and non-governmental organisations were selected for awarding, assessing the responses of the National Guard in questionnaires, as well as the recommendations of the National Guard Battalion Commander.

The honesty of the National Guard has already become an annual tradition, which was launched by the Ministry of Defence in 2017 to thank companies, institutions and organisations that make a significant contribution to the strengthening of the National Guard.
