Audriņu at primary school premises - camp “in the Eu environment, environment in me”
AT Audriņu, on 9 June, the work of the Latvian Environment Fund was launched in “Eu environment, environment in me”, with 8 – 11-year-old children. Each day of the camp is dedicated to a separate topic – water, air, climate, plants, soil, waste, ecosystem, healthy lifestyle and arrangements with nature. The camp participants learn natural and environmental problems by studying and finding solutions, they learn themselves and motivate people to save natural resources and protect the environment.
On the day of the opening of the camp, the children gathered in the school lobby to raise the camp flag. Anyone could sign on this flag, thereby confirming that they would follow the provisions of the “Eu environment, environment” camp. Each member was given a green shirt as a sign of affiliation, but the camp logo on his shirt had to be drawn. Hours later, there was an intense day of work, a lesson with recreational and recreational pauses and meals.
The time of the camp is not long -- 10 days, but these days are filled with various activities related to nature and the environment around us. The participants of the camp go in hiking, collect natural materials to perform various practical, creative and laboratory works, experiment and study. There are different ecosystem models, prepared herbaria, collected herbal plants and herbal tea. Each pair of participants will show their Berzins and take care of this tree for 10 days to make it in the soil. The baking of pizza and pies from self-cooked dough, as well as the making of the happy button. Holidays between classes are spent in active toys, dances and sporting AT Audriņu in the primary school sports area. The end of the camp includes the exhibition and presentation of the creative workshops of the participants. Not only the parents of the camp participants, but also THE residents of Audriņu village and parish, all stakeholders will be invited to this event.
The camp could take place thanks to the project competition organised by the Latvian Environment Fund in the project guidelines “responsible lifestyle”, which supported the application for the tab. No. 1-08/56/2014 camp “in the Eu environment, environment in me” (8-11 years) and finances a large proportion of the camp costs. The project was submitted BY Audriņu principal school director Liana Turumnieks. Vladimir Tihomirova, accountant Elvra Belisova, school colleague and pedagogies – Inese Mohambergs, Nadeždas Savickas and Sanita Vilumas, was very much supported.
