Čornajas village festival!
On 22 August, Čornaja celebrated the village festival for a fourth year, which has become a tradition. This year, the festival took place throughout the day, offering people to participate in various activities for all age groups.
The festival began with angling competitions AT Čornajas at the beach (Dukstigal Bay), where only a few major climbers had arrived. Although the day was not favourable to fishermen and failed to catch any fish, it did not prevent the people from being creatively and on the beach to create a fish from a waterway, as the fishermen were laughing: “it was not written to be fished.” If the fish were not going to be fished, we thought we could catch the weeds! A volleyball competition “Mix volleyball – Čornaja 2020” was also held at the beach, where the nearest and strongest teams were gathered to fight for the cup. The volleyball competitions took place in Rēzekne municipality's youth initiative project, organised BY Čornajas youth affairs specialist Sarmitte Broliša.
Around noon, residents of the village were invited to try a visit to THE beach with SUP boards and examine their forces in various individual disciplines and relay, where the best, fastest and most accurate were rewarded in the evening festival.
When all activities at the beach were over, the younger villages were expected TO spend Čornajas on children's activities. Here they were greeted by a fun photographer (artist: Tatiana Vavilova), henna and facial drawings, a velvet card, a foam party, riding a pony and a carpet, as well as inflatable attractions to a late evening.
When the children's laughter and chalks grew slightly, the evening festival came in, where the viewers were delighted BY Čornajas f/k “Auscara”, Lendžu middle-generation dance collective “Water” (lead Cynia Gailums), Belarusian song ensemble “Suzorje” (lead Ludmila Pikaçva) and Dagda f/k “Oscans” (lead Inta Vilnius). The festival concert was dedicated TO THE residents of Čornajas. As in previous years, during the course of the concert, all the winners of the events of the day have been performed, the newborn children have been congratulated and the honoured children's families are also honoured this year. At the end of the concert, a great “thank you” was given to all who had invested in THE work OF THE Čornajas village festival. After the concert, all residents were invited to enjoy the next evening group “Vremja Tepla” and Santa Savicka-Drozdova. In parallel to the dance, the people could warm up to the fire.
Once again, “thank you very much” for all those who invested their time and work AT Čornajas in the village. We'll see you next year.
