Latvian Youth Olympics starts the athletes of Rezekne municipality
The Latvian Youth Olympics took place in Valmiera and Cēsis during the period 3-5 July, which is an important event in Latvian sports life and is held every two years. It participated in 83 local government representatives – the total number of participants in competitions was 2637 young athletes.
22 new athletes of the Rezekne municipality were invited to participate in the Latvian Youth Olympics.
The Football team of Rezekne and the young light athletes fought in the final. The girls' football team had a good success in the final.won the Latvian Youth Olympics silver medalhe won a team of Valka and lost only to Riga girls' team. The team was played by Annie Dervenica, Anastasia Fiodorova, Baiba Medinica, Eva Medinica, Diana Novikova, Elina Spridzane, League of League, Sandra Voitāne, Santa Bistrova, Victoria Aijane, Karin Balalaika.
One of the best parties in the final showed that the prizes were not fought, also by the athletes who participated in various disciplines – Victoria Akmane, Christine Gailuma, Laura Grahova, Gunta Mazure, Skaidrite Romaka, Alexei Bodrov, Aigars Mediniks and Victoria Adijāne. The good results of Victoria Aijanes and Alexei Bodrov in the 3000 m distance should be noted.
Before going to the final, the priekšsacīkstēs of Rēzekne, the football and volleyball teams, were also fought in the races. The competition was very large, and this time unfortunately failed to qualify for the final.

In football – Lauris Abajevs, Rihards Antonov, Vadim Matisans, Armands Pranch, Alexander Sergeyev, Sergei Miheyev, Aleksandrs Miheyev, Juris Bistrov, Kaspars Kuzncovs, Dennis Samsonov, Vadim Poļaks, Arus dzenis, Maksims Malecs, Artemis Jigunov, Pavel Raitis Šestakov, Artis Zvdris, Aigars Mediniks, Maris Hlebnajs.
In volleyball – Sergei Gorin, Aigars Kalniņš, Otomars Kvitkovskis, Alexander Mascalevics, Alexander Mikhailov, Dmitry Plops, Aivars Zusāns.
