A specific circle of persons has the opportunity to receive a benefit in a crisis situation

Amendments to the Law on Social Services and Social Assistance stipulate that, while the emergency situation has been announced throughout the country due to the prevalence of Covid-19, and one calendar month after the end of the emergency situation, the local government shall grant to the family (person) who, because of the exceptional situation, is unable to ensure his or her basic needs, in the situation of the benefit crisis.
The government has decided that the recipient of the crisis benefit will be awarded 50 euros per nursing child under 18 years of age. This amount will be paid by the State.
The local government will not pay or reduce the relevant part of the benefit in a crisis situation regarding the period of time when the person has been granted an idle benefit in accordance with the requirements laid down in regulatory enactments.
The municipality will grant a benefit in a crisis situation based on the exceptional situation where the family (person) meets, for example, one of the following criteria:
1) the family (person) does not have income in relation to the emergency situation (for example, a person is forced on non-payroll leave, a person has been granted unemployment status, but does not receive unemployment benefit or the time of receipt of unemployment benefit has expired, self-employed persons who do not have an idle allowance, or a person employed on the basis of an undertaking contract or another type of contract – service providers who have lost the source of income, the principal family earner has lost his or her work or income from the property abroad, etc.);
2) the family (person) has incurred additional expenses which it is not able to cover in the self-isolation in relation to return from the COUNTRIES affected by THE COVID-19/currently any other country (for example, income and savings are spent in addition to housing, hotel, transport, etc.);
3) the family (person) is located or has been in quarantine and has no livelihood.
In order to qualify for a crisis benefit:
1) submit a reasoned submission to the social service, which reflects the grounds that the crisis has arisen due to the declared emergency situation;
2) attach documents, such as a notice of work, an order regarding granting of non-pay leave, or copies of other documents, which will be evidence for the taking of a decision.
