Ozolmuiža's young people participate in the creation of a photo story “is not as good as at home”

The people of Ozolmuiža parish took advantage of the opportunity to participate in project activities, which are financially supported by the society integration fund from the Latvian State budget funds. Project Nr.2021.LV/ GDP/155/24.

Ozolmuiža parish is a beautiful and well-established place where children, young people and families have the opportunity to grow by creating their own home. As part of the project, it was important to recall the history of parish and cultural heritage. All activities were planned so that young people with each lesson learn the skills they need in other activities. For example, informal learning at the time of “their root awareness” was an opportunity for young people to meet a journalist's profession, which includes not only communication with people but also the ability to work in front of the camera.

In turn, when creating a photo story “is not as good as home”, young people learn new skills in the creation, processing, sound recording and assembly of video clips within four days. John Jurchenko shared his experience and knowledge.

The task of young people was to create a video story about the cultural heritage of parish, its traditions and nature. Young people and children individually formed a scenario, assembled and matched. Young people found it easy and pleasant to work, knowing that the entire film process could be created by adjusting and supplementing the resulting material by their own feelings.
