In the municipality of Rezekne, there is a tradition of 19 March, the day of Joseph, the master's day, honouring the best entrepreneurs. This is a tradition of ten years. Unfortunately, for several years, these festivals are postponed due to the restrictions on the covid pandemic set in the country. Also this year, like a year ago, entrepreneurs will be welcome to the events of Rezekne Municipality, which will be held in each association, together with the winners of the “beautiful Muna”.

The right to nominate tenderers shall be the council of parish councils, other institutions and residents in co-operation with the management of the relevant parish, having previously received the consent of the nominated tenderer.
This year, the most successful candidates were nominated in the nomination “annual artisanal/domestic producer”, where four applicants were evaluated, but none of the applicants had been nominated in the nomination “annual company”.
At the beginning of the year, the Commission visits the bidders to assess the activities of companies, the attraction of investments, the creation of new jobs, the quality, originality, environmental protection and other aspects of the products or services produced. The evaluation of tenderers shall be carried out by the Commission of the Rēzekne District Council and approved by the Commission, consisting of five members:

Agricultural service cooperative society “Viļāni”
The agricultural service cooperative “Viļāni” is a cooperative that combines large and small milk suppliers. THE LPC “Viļāni” is founded in 1993 and at this time the cooperative combines more than 280 members from Rezekne, Preilu and Varakalans. The company deals with the collection and sale of raw milk. On average 30 tonnes of raw milk are collected per day. A small part of the organic milk collected, THE LPP “Viļāni” is processed into its production facility with the Bryunal brand. The production of the milk produced comes to the shelves of the Riga BIO shops, as well as is traded in the Rēzekne, Vilnius and Varakans. in the year, the company's turnover was - 3.9 million EUR.
The place where the cooperatives are located is called “dairy coasts”, and indeed, the milk rivers have been flowing since the 50 th century of the last century, when there was a canned shop of Rēzekne's milk canned, producing quality butter. In times of confusion, in the 90 s, the equipment was sold, but the vivids decided to keep the plant so that the milk rivers did not stop. Now the cooperatives' production with Bryunai has become the pride of Latgale, which is popular by consumers of bioproduction throughout Latvia. In ordinary food shops it is not possible to find it because, as for natural products, they have a short period of disposal, but butter and cream, as well as different types of cheese, taste exactly the same as in rural home with grandmother.
An average of 20 employees are employed on average per year. THE LPC “Viļāni” actively engages in various projects, implementing the training of THE SEA at the employer's and pupils' employment during summer holidays, 2 jobs were set up in the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Solidarity Corps and the first professional experience was acquired by 2 young people with limited opportunities.
