Rezekne leads the old folk home in Sherjans – 20
On 27 May, a 20-year-old pansionāts of the old people of Rezekne was celebrated with a resigned concert colleague and co-operation partners. Although the date of establishment of the official home is 2 February 1996, the anniversary of the anniversary, as a more suitable time, was chosen by the light and flowering May.
As the leader of the Sherjan Home, Lizdica was told, the nurse was established on the base of the former rural district hospital at the centre of Sherjan village with the aim of providing quality and efficient social services, as well as ensuring the satisfaction of the basic needs of people who could not do so on their own due to age or health. For a long time, there were 50 seats in the homeland, but as of December 2013, with the opening of the Pilcene branch, 22 more seats were present.
“In life, a great deal of work has been done, 70 pensioners and people with Group I or II disabilities are now quietly rested, 48 in Syrgans and 22 in Pilcene,“ discovered Lizdika. ”All residents of the homeland are from the parish of Rezekne municipality, but as from that year a service“ atelp moment ”is provided in the Citizens' branch, where a person from any place in Latvia may apply for temporary care if he or she is unable to take care of himself or herself because of age or state of health.
“The Strūžānu Home is located in a beautiful place on the shore of the lake. The Home has a large, well-equipped area where you can move in a wheelchair. There is a large apple garden next to the house, where the occupants can rest, sit in the shadows and enjoy the inbound apple harvest in the autumn," says the head of the nurse. Once a month, the residents of the nurse gather on the joint summation of the birthday and word-day gavelists. Traditional festivals are celebrated here, and an ancient evening parish cultural centre is also visited. It is also very welcome that self-acting collectors, who occasionally enjoy the inhabitants of the homeland with sound concerts.
Over the years, the building has experienced numerous repairs and improvements. The self-persistent work and the support of the municipality of Rezekne have transformed the institution into residents and a pleasant institution. “Like Kurdars,” comparing Lizdica, “all the time we're doing something and busy.” Just one end of the building was replaced by doors and lined walls, while in Pilcene, instead of the old sports area, rose plantations were added to the 20-year-anniversary. ”
Social rehabilitation and daily care are provided by 25 employees in Snejans and 13 in Pillar. “I can rely on my staff 24 hours a day,” says Lizzdica. As she laughs herself, her whole life has been spent in one wall, first 12 years in Sherjan Hospital on the station therapist, then 20 years in the head of the nurse: “August will be 33 years since she is working here.” Two jobs, but walls one. '
Both the nearest neighbors – Stružānu and Dricānu parish administration, Jaunjjan elementary school, kindergarten “bell”, SIA “Silent warmth”, Rēzekne municipality social service and parish social workers, as well as colleagues from the Viazu social care centre, who is a month older than the Sherjan Home, were welcomed into the anniversary event. Speaking to the present, the Vice-President of the Rēzekne council, Elman Pizane, emphasized that 20 years have not passed easily: “there was a need to install the premises, find employees, wait for the first residents, and all you have done so that every inhabitant would be at home and everyone could live as a family.” But there are all the things in families, each with their own character and their own nicknames.
