Devacuation of gravel roads by the Rēzekne municipality
In the care of the quality of life of the population, the municipality of Rezekne has carried out gravel road treatment to reduce dust.
“In the municipality, the total length of the municipal roads is ~ 1600 kilometres, and ~ 1300 of these are gravel roads where there is a bird in the dry time, causing problems for the population of the surrounding areas. In order to mitigate this problem, the municipality of Rezekne has carried out road treatment with calcium chloride. The total length of the processed road sections is almost 28 km. Of course, the best solution would be to process all the gravel roads of the municipality, but so many funds at the disposal of the municipality do not currently exist, so that road sections with greater traffic intensity and denser populated areas were processed to reduce the problems for the population. This solution is very good for one season, and the amount of dust decreases significantly, and the expenditure on the grading of the road is reduced slightly, as Trape is almost not formed, the Communal ingenieris Albert Kindzulis of the municipality of Rezekne.
From April 14 to April 17, the road was handled by THE company SIA Eco Baltia Environment, which won the procurement, the processing of one square metre paid 24 cents (excluding VAT). This type of treatment should be carried out once a season.
The municipality of SIA Eco Baltia has been carrying out this type of road treatment for three years and has been positively assessed by the population.
Small doses of calcium chloride are used in the production of milk products and are present in nature. Compared to sodium chloride (winter passive salt), it is at least three times less harmful. The previous observations show that the grass has not started to be dried at any site where the dust is cleared but, on the contrary, it has become healthier.
