INTEGRA

On 1 November 2020 (until 31 December 2022), the municipality of Rēzekne, as the leading partner, started to implement Erasmus + THE “INTEGRA” project financed by the programme. It aims at restoring and diversifying the offer of educational groups of existing pupils in Rezekne, Rēzekne District, Viļānu municipality, Jonathan (Lithuania), Kupiiski (Lithuania), Headdemedia (Estonia) and Maribor (Slovenia).

During the project, teachers of various subjects and clusters who want to offer modern and interesting groups, experiment and expand their vision will learn to integrate robotics and technologies not only in physics or mathematics but also in foreign languages, art and work with special children.

The municipality of Rezekne and the city, as well AS Viļānu, will have the opportunity to improve the knowledge of the teachers of the Jelgava Technology Secondary School. The course programme is intended for both technologically experienced teachers and beginners, as teachers understand and experiment. The first lesson, for the time being online, will be held on 28 November and 5 December. Teachers will learn to use ecologically clean toys – large-scale wooden constructorsPleasure", 3D pens, 3D design basics, and robots for non-standard tasks.

IN Gaigalavas, the English-language teacher Ilze Kuhaļska acknowledged that these courses would be a major challenge as the humanities were not taught to date. The Guilisha of the Centre for the Interest Education of the Centre for the Interest of East Latvian Creativity Services “Zeimuļs” adds that the knowledge acquired and the methodological tools developed will allow the teachers involved to rebuild the content of existing clusters by offering technology to children with special needs.

The project will also take part in the robotics pupils who, together with teachers, will be guiding masters not only in Latvia but also in Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia. It will be a great opportunity for pupils to gain practical experience in the use of technologies, strengthen their ability to operate in a team, express their opinions, not be afraid to be creative, as well as get new friends in other countries and improve English. It is planned that in October 2022, at the final event of the project in Rezekne, Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian and Slovenian schools, parents and other stakeholders will also be able to participate.

The partners currently involved in the project hope that the pandemic will soon end and will be able to implement all planned measures.
