Traditionally non-traditional “Fishery Day” in Nagles
A great deal of joy, amusement sports games and friendly atmospheric conspiracy led to the current Festival of “Zveynoday” in Nagles. In view of the fact that the event has become a tradition over several years and partly as a business card for Nagu parish, a large number of sporting, resting, and supporters gathered at the time and place.
According to one of the organisers and managers of the event, Janis Macāns, Nagu civil parish is unique because he is the only village of land fishermen in Latvia and is only one of the reasons why it would be worth viewing this place. Over the years, the Sports Festival of Nagle fishermen continues to attract audiences of different people, as they offer entertainment opportunities for all – as young children, its toughened fishermen. Also this year, the smallest inflatable attractions and shooting competitions, but greater sporting of exotic attractions such as boat struggles, fish brushing competitions, and even extremist obstacles in which participants had to prove their agility and balance of equilibrium, moving along the trees and the obstacles placed between them.
The winners were awarded with diplomas, medals and other prizes. In angling competitions in adult competition, Andris Turkin, who managed to catch a 1.905 kg role, and in children's competition, Ingus Ivanov (with a 0.110 kg role).
Rihards Mežatučs scored in the diving (in the boy category), while the girls were Agnes Rutule. In the men's group, Osvalds Kostukov, women - Anita Sārne. The boats' struggle in a large competition was first achieved by a team consisting of Anda Deme, Arvis cabbage and Juris Jusītis.
The events of the event were celebrated by the crowd orchestra “Decrores”, and the Nagu parish youth dance collective “Piparins” and the Bar trio “Rondo,” and the evening ball – the group “must be with”.
The organisers of competitions – Inese Benjava and Janis Macāns specifically emphasise that, without the help of sponsors, it would be impossible to organise such a mass event, so sincerely thanks and hopes for cooperation in citugad. Similarly, the organisers express thanks to the municipality of Rezekne and the Nagu parish administration. However, the already named sponsors are just a small part of the many people who did not laugh and help both in the organisational process and as a competition judge, thank everyone!
