For young people

From July 25 to August 7, two camps were held at Dricānu High School for children of classes 7-9 and children of classes 10-12: “Health-enhancing camps for children from Dricānu parish associations, which are from multi-child, poor, low-collateralised, social risk families IN THE ESF project“ live healthy in Rezekne municipality! ”.

The first day of the camp “VASALS” for each group in camp was devoted to ice breaking activities, groups forming activities. On the first day of the camp, a yoga teacher visited the camp and led the yoga lessons, then the young people met the medical doctor and talked about health and hygiene during the camp and day. In conclusion, small group works and research on a variety of popular diets. Young people, in addition to learning the knowledge and skills of healthy lifestyles, also learned to speak in front of the audience, to be at the centre of attention, to listen and operate, as a single group.

Each day, the participants looked at the theme of another healthy lifestyle, the second day of the camp was devoted to the dietary theme “from field to table”, where students of classes 7-9 went to see Z/S Psar, who engaged in grain and vegetable production, and also delivered vegetables to several caterers in Rezekne. At the time of the survey, young people were not only aware of the work and the importance of the farm in local society and the nature of the local product, but also looked at the fields and worried the carrots from the field.

The third day was devoted to hiking or excursion motivating young people to move and be in nature, identifying different types of activities being natural. In the excursion, the 10 th-12 th class students went to Razna to enjoy the water opportunities with SUP boards, catamarans and boats, and later went to the Ittoma home to hold their own keys for lunch and the creative workshop. In the course of the trip, the participants went to the creative field “Leicyi”, where they met the extensive cattle production, found wild horses, continued the theme “from field to table” by introducing poultry farming to the farm. In addition to these activities, the participants had the opportunity to learn the skills to shoot, play golf and pouch.

Similarly, on the third day, young people are creating their own camp logo, which can be selected and printed on bags or T-shirts that symbolize their affiliation to the camp family.

On the fourth and fifth day, art therapy activities, along with art therapy, were working on participants' fears, stress, and other emotions that prevent young people from feeling well. In the evening, young people played Viking chess and learned the skills to navigate to the Slackline or Balance Ribbon.
The last day of the camp was devoted to creative workshops and play an active role in playing a circle. One of the workshops was a sophisticated workshop where young people printed their shirts with their own designs. The camp activities covered theoretically several topics outside the diet, such as food packaging and its impact on the environment and our health, so following this theoretical lesson, young people are developing their beeswax fabrics, which are an ecological alternative to the everyday food film. Similarly, young people learn the encostics method and develop their eko soya wax candles in lemon.

A checker tournament, a table tennis tournament, or a night-orientation trace were organized every day. After the programme's free evening, young people went to play night volleyball.
Each group of camps had their own nuances, which did not repeat and formed a variety of camp programs, and they were two active, knowledgeable and emotions in the “vasals” camps.

Health-enhancing camps for children from Dricānu parish associations, which are from multi-child, poor, low-collateralised, social risk families, are organised within THE framework of ESF project No. 9.2.4.2/16/I/027 “live healthy in Rezekne District!” and its activities focus on public awareness, education, the development of personal skills, behavioural change and the development of healthy lifestyles, which contribute to the development of a healthy society.
