Nordlatgale Distribution of children and youth folklore clusters in Gaigalava
“Money bier zōbowa” -- such a scandalous name was chosen for the folklore of children and youth folklore of North Latgale, which took place AT Gaigalavas in the cultural house on 11 April. Around 325 small folklorists from Rezekne municipality and city, Ludza, Vilaka, Ciblas and Viļānu took part in the freeze.
The purpose of the event was the acquisition and inheritance of local singing, narrative, musical and dancing traditions of North Latgale in relation to the topic “money in Latvian folklore”. Each collective showed a 7-minute long program, discussing the topic of money. Children and young people sang and play songs, went toys, told their lives, anecdotes about money, and danced together.
The Rēzekne District was represented by Dricānu upper secondary school folklore “Dricyi”, Gaigalavas primary school children folklore set “Purineņš”, Kaunatas secondary school “Raznaviņa”, liepu primary school “Liepiņa”, Nautrēnu secondary school “Rogovka”, Rikavas primary school “Moses Rykova”, Kalnzeru Catholic elementary school “Kalnzerini”, as well as Jaunjjan elementary school folklore ensemble.
