In 2019, 12 projects were supported by Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation's “own FAMILY TABLE” project competition, 3 projects in Latgale, 2 projects in Vidzeme, 3 projects in Zemgale and 4 projects in Kurzeme, including the project submitted by the Latvian Red Cross Rēzekne Division. In total, 287 Latvian households were granted the aid, among others 17 Rezekne Municipalities, who engaged in the Agriculture Project to provide food for their own household table.
The participants in the project received seeds, plants and garden-care accessories in spring. In the summer of all summer, 1101 people, including 467 children, have been chaked in addition to receiving advice on gardening, while in autumn – advice on harvesting and preservation of the harvest. One household managed an average of 400 square metres. Most often, the families chose to grow potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions, beet and cucumbers.
The Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation granted grants of EUR 16215 million in 2019. The support of the “own FAMILY TABLE” programme will continue. By strengthening people's efforts in their own hands to take care of their prosperity, the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation plans to launch the next project competition in January 2020. It will be able to participate in non-profit-making organisations who want to involve people in difficulty, but susceptible to the people of their neighbourhood in jobs that improve their living conditions. We are invited to follow up-to-date events - information on the announcement of the project competition will be published on the website www.saimesgaldam.lvas well as on the Facebook page of the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation https://www.facebook.com/TeterevuFonds/
