Education

For the second year, Audriņu primary school pupils participated in the “putra programme”. These are measures devoted to healthy lifestyles, which continued almost throughout October. The children deepened their knowledge of healthy diet, encouraged healthy eating habits, as well as creative and fun time.
Students of classes 1-3 began watching the presentation of a presentation offered by organizers. It was an unusual way, lying on the carpet. On our way, our way went to the school canoe, with the help of cooks, the children cooked a real mess in the big pot and shared a huge chicken with all hungry. After that, the primary pupils “traveled” to the creative workshops, the miraculous paintings from the groats.
The laughter and joke were also a mouthful afternoon, the closing event. The children had to remember the names of the groats, fingering what was hidden in the bag. The pupils mentioned the dough, hoped for proverbs about their favorite pub, danced, participated in tenders.
On the other hand, class 5 pupils visited the Museum of bread in Aglona. One of the goals of the journey was to meet the traditions of the baking of Latgalian bread and to promote healthy food, which is hard to imagine without rye bread and beans on our tables on a daily basis. The museum's manager, Cudiņa, told her about the ancient traditions of the cultivation of Latgalian rye, the fermentation process of rye bread and the cooking process and the importance of it in our lives.
The museum visit was not boring because there were many demonstrations, the Latgalian song and poems, and even dance. The museum exhibits could be held by hand and imagined as a real Latgalian farmer. Everything ended with the tasting of rye bread, the bouquet, and the pleasure of the green tea.
Returning after the autumn holiday, on November 2, the 5 th grade pupils and the class nurse Yelena Pimahova introduced the seen, heard and survived pupils of Classes 6 and 8, showing a fascinating presentation. The children were delighted and enthusiastically interested in both what they said and photographs.
As the work continued, the students of classes 5, 6 and 8 made their proverbs and talk about the putre. Prior to the commencement of work, the classmates offered to meet the folklore materials of other peoples – Yelena Pimachova prepared proverbs and talk about the foam in folklore of Russian and other people, while Sandra Jershaw - in Latvian folklore. After that, the pupils, in both pairs and individually, gathered together and visually matched their work.
