Honour freedom fighters

On 16 August, Rēzekne Municipality novada Feimaņu parish, 3. A remark event at the Rusenica River was held at the Jelgava Championship at the Rusenica River. The 100 th anniversary of the Jelgava Championship.
The event with the support of the municipality of Rezekne was organised by the National Guard's 32 nd Introducer Battalion. The National Guard 3 took part in the event. Latgale Brigade soldiers, national guardsmen and veterans, guests from the Jelgava National Guard 52 nd Introducer Battalion, representatives of the municipality of Jelgava municipality. Historian John Hartmanis said of the struggles that took place in January 1920.
Speaking to the participants of the event, the President OF the Rēzekne District Council, Monvīds Švarcs, said that the greatest gratitude for the fact that the pages of history are not forgotten is the National Guard veterans: “the greatest thanks to the National Guard veteran Anton Cauņam, who came to the local government with the initiative that it is necessary to organize the area around this obelisk and to do so much so that the works can be successfully carried forward. Thanks TO THE Latvian State Forests, the owner of this land, who referred to the veteran initiative and agreed to install a track to the obelisk, is now available to the public. '
Similarly, Monvīds Švarcs congratulated one of the National Guard's 32 nd Introducer Battalion veterans - Ernest Khalifa, a population of Rezekne, who had a total of 90 years on 16 August.
The Commander of the National Guard's 32 nd Introducer Battalion, Major Edgars Belinskis thanked the veterans and THE Feimaņu parish administration - those who cared for the destruction of the obelisk.
The musical design of the Remembrance event was provided by the Latvian National Guard's 52 nd Introducer Battalion Ansablis “junda” and the Rēzekne Municipality and Jānis Ivanova Rezekne's musical secondary school pub orchestra. After the event, the guests were respected with cooked food and warm tea.
3. The Jelgava Championship was founded on 16 August 1919. Latgale's territory was released as the last of Latvia's independence war. It was the main task of the Latvian government since the end of 1919. More than 22 thousand well-prepared Latvian Army soldiers participated in the fight for Latgale, including 3.
