Hamburg will talk about tourism opportunities in Latgale

The Latgale tourism association “Ezerland”, from 17 to 21 February in the German city of Munich, participates in Northern Germany at the most visited tourism exhibition “Reisen Hamburg 2016”.

Germany's Latgale tourism sector is a highly priority target market. The share of German tourists in the region tends to increase and is the third largest target market after Lithuania and Russia. The German tourists arriving in Latgale are the Individual tourists, both economically active ages and seniors who are active travellers. Almost all German tourists who visited Latgale are Baltic travellers, and before arriving in Latgale, they have already seen Lithuania, but their goal is to go to Estonia. German tourists in Latgale are interested in urban, cultural, rural, active and natural tourism. The Germans often travel with a car, but they are often also used in the tourist information centres often interested in campsites.

As a result of the annual event, most of the visitors of the exhibition “Reisen Hamburg 2016” were seniors, families with children, as well as young people.

For several years, as Latgale expert and man who is deeply respected and loving Latgale, the exhibition of the former Ludza district and the German city Bad Bodenteiah co-ordinator Rolf Simons is also involved in the exhibition. He visits Latgale every year for more than ten years and calls it his second home.

In addition to Latgale tourism professionals, this exhibition also includes the Kraslava kermist Valdis Paulins, which will show the potential German tourists the skills of a potter.

The participation of Latgale tourism specialists in this and other international exhibitions is ensured by the support of Latgale local governments, Latvian Investment and Development Agency and European Regional Development Fund.
