“Survival trace” in Dricans within the European Health Week

For young people

The Health Week or MoveWeek was held in Europe from 29 May to 4 June. The aim of this movement is to promote healthy lifestyles and to involve as many people as possible in physical activity. Dricānu parish young people participated in Latvia's health week for the first time, organising a youth initiative project “survival trace”.
The project was implemented thanks to the funding of the municipality of Rezekne, the aim of which was to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage young people to spend time in free nature without modern smart devices, as well as to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge of accommodation and presence in nature.
During 2 days, from 1 to 2 June, the participants performed a variety of tasks: speed, excitement, ingenuity, but the evening should be lifted, tents should be set and dinner should be prepared themselves. In addition to theoretical knowledge of survival in nature, the necessary equipment and best democrats were provided by the guest lector Žanis Bodge. One of the questions was how to act when a deer meets in the forest. On the other hand, the tasks were prepared for the whole day by a Reinholds-in-chief. Despite the cool weather and the rain in the night, the young people greeted smiling and energy. On June 2, the participants of a healthy cocktail-class event were organised. Not only are the movements important to health but also food. The purpose of this event was to teach and show young people how to prepare pleasure and delicious drinks from plants such as sodium, heron and milk. Thank you for your newcomers from Gaigalavas and Ozolaines who also participated in the “survival trace” event.
Ingona Samule,
Dricānu parish youth coordinator
