For young people

Additional admission of the youth guarantee to young people aged 17-29, who are unemployed, has been announced in vocational educational institutions throughout Latvia by 31 August. Admission shall take place in 30 professions requested on the labour market, which may be acquired within 1 year free of charge.
Young people wishing to apply for training may be evening pupils, receive secondary education in distance learning or study part-time studies at universities. Potential students may also be registered in the State Employment Agency as jobseekers or unemployed persons and at the same time receive unemployment benefit.
It should be noted that young people cannot be employed, be on academic or parental leave, and be full-time students. In order to apply for training, primary education, secondary education or secondary vocational education may be required, but higher education may also be obtained.
In the course of training, young people receive a scholarship from 70 to 115 euros per month, if successful, as well as the necessary training funds and a free space at the service hotel. In contrast, during qualification practice, the program pays travel expenses and accommodation if necessary.
The list of youth guarantee professions is co-ordinated with employers before each admission, and this time includes professions in the labour market such as the clerk, stitching, finishing worker, wood-processing machine operator, manicure and pedicure specialist, hairdresser, visitor, locker, unlocker, turnist, dentist assistant, nurse assistant, gardener, photographer, and cook assistant, confectionor assistant and other professions.
