Kaunatas in high school team mission “Latgale guards”

On the invitation of the youth section of the City Council of Daugavpils City Council to participate in the play “Latgale guards 2018”, four Kaunatas secondary schools were referred to: class 8a – “Kaunatians” (Solvita Brokāne), in class 10a two teams “force” and “positive emotion agents” (Inara Paramonova) and 12a – “Kaunatas batalion” (nurse Maria Mukāne). Before the games themselves, teams had to participate in the selection phase where they were supposed to select 20 teams. The application should indicate the motivation of the team to participate, the strength of the team members, the motto and the shared photo. All four teams were invited to attend Daugavpils Fortress on 4 October.
The game consisted of two stages: first training in six workshops (first aid in the field of outdoor life, travel by card and compass, dosing and execution of commands, the history of the Latvian freedom struggle, the principles of freedom of movement, the principles of assembly and preparation for co-operation, field and hospital shooting, the basic principles of nearby, the basic principles of communication (Morse and phonetic alphabet), and the afternoon of the mission “free Daugavpils!”, in which young people were able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the first part of the day. The team was accompanied by the group “Gainfast” solicitor and the leader of the street gymnastics movement Kaspars Zlidnis.
The day was windy, but sunny, and the teams were delighted to go through certain stages of the game, which required both team work and responsibility for their shared material values and strength. The results were different, but the benefit was a sense of unity and satisfaction that they could check their forces and touch the history for a moment.
