Kaunatas Secondary School Study Company successfully participates in the business competition “Start strong 3 +3”
“Junior Achievement Latvia” (IF Latvia), in cooperation with THE US embassy in Latvia and a career school, “Start strong”, launched an application for a business competition “Start strong 3 +3” IF Latvia school for students of classes 10-12 to promote secondary school young people to form pupils' training companies (SONG), which would be innovative and viable in Latvia or a particular international business environment.
The competition is organised in the form of three practical masters to BE able to acquire new knowledge and skills and to improve the product by finding innovation. This year, THE competition called “Mars tea”, which was founded at THE beginning OF the year AT Kaunatas secondary school. Lena and Ilze volunteered for the competition because they wanted to gain valuable experience in establishing contacts, to explore the Western market and to get unique advice from experts who supported the project.
In the first round, girls had to film a 30-second clip in English, telling them about themselves, their ideas and motivation for membership. This competition was successful, and “Mars tea” had an opportunity to become one of 28 teams that would visit masters before the big finals in May.
“Mar tea” is the only school school in Latgale region that has been in the second round of this competition. The first masterpiece of the second round took place IN THE U.S. embassy in Riga, where teams participated in various ideas promoting activities and established new contacts. Ilze and Lena admit, "This was a very valuable experience because we learned not only the foundations of business that could be useful in the markets but also the various psychological elements that help to influence the choice of customers. Everything happened in an uncompressed, friendly atmosphere, we learned a lot of new things in a few hours. Such things don't come to any school. '
The next task is to perform a homework – make another video clip, using your new knowledge in everyday life.
