Activities of the “active Community” project
The project “active Community”, which is carried out in the Rēzekne municipality by the Centre for Education and Initiatives (IIC) in cooperation with the British Council representation in Latvia, in September of that year, called for both the most active people and educators of Rezekne to be encouraged to think of the necessary changes in the improvement of local community life and to educate.
On 19 September, a seminar was held at the premises of the municipality of Rezekne for the representatives of the Communities “Eu for the European Community”, headed by Christine Leontyeva from the British Council representative in Latvia and project manager Kristine Liepiņa from IIC.
The workshop took a large number of participants from Ozolaines, Ozolmuižas, Dricānu, Ilzeskalna, Griškānu, Stoļerovas, Lūznavas, Sakstagala, Kaunatas, Bērzgales, Nautrēnu, Gaigalavas, Feimaņu, Maltas and Verham parish. By sketching the possibilities of his surroundings and living room, the representatives were able to hang up with their parish.
The people of Rezekne are proud of nature, with working people, with historical celebrities, with the highest mountains, with the Razna National Park, with Lūznavas manure, with recreational places, with new, modern stadiums, with healing families, with the Latgalian language, the environment, with infrastructure, the French Tradog Museum, the fact that Kaunatas high school is visited for four generations.
Every member of the workshop was given the opportunity to express his vision of the knowledge, skills and experience that could be useful for the development of the Community. In working groups, the participants actively analysed the problems and challenges of their place of residence and the reasons for their emergence. Active activity, co-thinking in identifying and investigating the problem, arriving at the steps of its solution.
The participants see opportunities and are willing to cooperate in thinking about improving their living space. The vision is that a number of generations, involving non-governmental organisations, who are active and ready to be involved, can jointly make the necessary improvements. On the other hand, seminars for teachers with teachers' professional competence development programme “educational institutions and family cooperation” took place within the framework of the “active Community” project 26-27.09.
Topics learned:
- Knowledge and respect of the culture of the family and the local community.
- Change of attitudes to family and society from education commissioning parties to a partnership partnership.
- Elements of cooperation, their interconnection and impact.
- Methods and techniques for familiarisation and communication.
- Barriers to cooperation/obstacles and opportunities for overcoming them.
All the topics learned will be useful for teachers. The teachers acknowledged that special practical examples could look at many things with a different vision. Seminars were guided by an educational and experience-rich lecturer Sandra Kraukle.
