Rēzekne municipality in Signagala started a new stationary fotoradar

On Latvian roads, 3 new stationary phototories will be launched this week, which will be located in Ledman, Signagala and Ozolnieki. As a result, 63 stationary phototories will be performed on the roads.
Also this time before all radar locations there are information road signs that inform drivers about the speed of driving and the installed photo-adar. The aim of radar is to reduce the number of speed breaches and road traffic accidents at these locations. This has already been achieved - there are no fatalities in the areas of fixed fowls associated with speeding.
The installation plan approved by the government foresees that, by the end of this year, 100 speed measuring devices must be installed on the Latvian roads, which would significantly extend the control of the permitted speed infringers, no accidents and damage to road users.
The sites are selected and co-ordinated with co-operation IN CSDD and road safety and the responsible institutions involved in the traffic organisation - the State Police, VAS “Latvian State Roads” and local governments. More information on fixed fowls can be found here, while the location map is found here.
