Art farer

From June 18 to June 25, an international project “art farers” of five different arts from the city of Los Palacios will be located in Rēzekne municipality. The guests from Spain will organize our communes in flamenko songs and dance basics, teach painting and creating clay sculptures in Spanish style, as well as introducing the specifics of Andalusia folklore music, sound recordings and their processing.

Art farer is a 24-month multinational project focused on supporting international mobility and promoting volunteering in cultural and artistic fields. The project activities from each Member State – Slovenia, Spain, Greece and Latvia – involve five artists who will participate in exchanges of experience.
Artists from Spain visit Latvia, while project participants from Rezekne municipality will present their activities to Greece in October of that year. There will be a horeograph and Latvian People's dance teacher Ilmārs Dreļs, artist and teacher Ilze Ontugāne, photographer Alexander Lebeds, Cordirigente Solvita Pavlovska and florist, teacher May Gailums.

The project is one of nine supported by the European Community's 2009 Culture Programme “Support for the mobility of artists”. The municipality of Rezekne is one of four partner organisations of the project.
