Journalism summer school in Rezekne municipality 2019

We invite young people from 14-17 years to apply for a journalist summer school that will be held from 26 to 31 August in Rezekne District.
The summer school is organised in partnership with the Delfi news portal, the Rēzekne Technology Academy, the Rezekne Municipality and THE LSM Latgale multimedia studio. The programme is supported by British Council representation in Latvia, providing free membership for 30 young people.
The aim of the journalism summer school is to inspire young people and to develop their skills and interest in journalism, including the basics of journalism, ethical standards, methods of gathering and testing information, and to collect with professional journalists and media. In addition to the theoretical knowledge and excursions acquired in the summer school, three months after school, young people will be able to collaborate with Latgale multimedia study and Delfi news portal. During collaboration, young people will be able to send their jobs, get advice from the mentor/editor to complete the article until it is ready for publication.
The journalist summer school will be chaired by leading journalists from Latvia, Estonia and Russia.
Program:
August 26: Introduction in journalism and excursion to Riga, Delfi news portal./July Rodina, journalist, SSE Riga Media Study Centre Programme Coordinator in Estonia.
August 27: Padomi How to veidot a rakstu How to atrast a tēmu. The differences to be taken into account in the publication of the news portal and printed paper/Anatoli Golubov are rus.Delfi.lv by the main editor.
August 28: Video interviewing methods and formats./Uldis Abolins, LNT journalist.
August 29: Methods of news and factual verification./Nika Aleksejeva, fact-checking expert and instructor.
August 30: Storage, practical work in Rezekne, visit to LSM Latgale multimedia studio./journalist July Rodina and Lāsma Antonevica
August 31: Presentation and graduation of youth works.

Results: The participants who will be awarded scholarships will receive an e-mail from organizers by August 21.
