Social services for children with functional disorders in the Multilateral Social Services Center (DSPC) “Vecružina”

On 28 March, the Multilateral Social Services Centre (DSPC) “Vecružina” held a formal discovery of social services for children with functional disorders established within the framework of the deinstitutionalisation plan of Latgale Planning Region. In the future, three services will be offered to children with functional disorders – the “standby” service, the day care centre for children with functional disorders and social rehabilitation service. The first customers of the service will be able to receive from April.

The aim of the project was to establish a society-based social service provision infrastructure for children with functional disorders in the territory of Rezekne District. The newly opened services are located IN THE right wing of THE DSPC “Vecružina” building on three floors. The premises shall be equipped with the necessary equipment to enable qualified professionals to provide a full service. Children will have access to services: psychologist service, social worker service, logoped service, sand therapy, pearl bath, physiotherapy, massage and others.

Rēzekne District Council Chairman Monvīds Švarcs emphasized in his speech that Latgale planning region coordinates the implementation of various new services in local governments. Despite discussions, it is unambiguous that it is good to talk about service, functionality and demand. The President pointed out that the existing infrastructure is based on the improvement of premises and a very necessary service will be offered to the residents of Rezekne District.

The established services provide an opportunity to provide social services to children with functional disorders which have been evaluated and received a social rehabilitation plan in the project “Implementation of deinstitutionalisation measures in Latgale region” implemented by the Latgale planning region.
