For young people

On Friday, a youth informal training project “step” was concluded on 15 July. The project took place in the Rēzekne municipality IN Sakstagala parish from 11-15 July and included 20 Sakstagala parish young people from 10-17 years who acquired new experience, knowledge and skills regarding the realization of business ideas, leadership, career choice, development of co-operation skills and active participation.
The first day, young people began to get acquainted with familiarisation activities, where they all met, bent as a team and started the first steps of the project. Young people met Rēzekne's psychologist Nathalie black, who organized attractive games with whom young people knew themselves, their abilities and skills.
On the second day of the project, ten volunteers from different countries, Spain, Portugal, Italy and France, came to Signagala. Through informal learning methods, volunteers presented their countries, their national culture and traditions to project participants. All activities took place in English, so that local young people could improve their English skills and understand the importance of obtaining good English knowledge today. At the time of the meeting, a new experience was achieved BY Sakstagala J. KCo's primary school sports teacher Lāsma Malta, as one of the volunteers also worked as a sports teacher in Spain. Young people were very friendly with volunteers and waiting again for their schooling. In the second half of the day, the participants of the project, together with foreigners, drove to Rezekne, where they visited the Eastern Latvian creative service centre “Zeimuļs”. For the rest of the time, all young people and volunteers from Poland, Caroline, were active with young people. Young people were delighted about the interesting and attractive games and the day they spent in an international environment.
On the third day, young people shared two groups and started to work actively on their business ideas. The first idea was the sewing of tea bags, which were very good for everyone, and the boys formed very beautiful tea bags. The participants of the project started learning their own dances, which presented training on the last day. In the afternoon, young people went into a training excursion to young people. The first visit was Berzgale at Ilze Chudae, who was building ethnographic wooden clocks. We had also visited John Jurchenko, who had established his own company. John, along with one of the camp participants, showed us how his works were made - a variety of prints. Young people were very responsive and asked questions to obtain new knowledge as a practical business. This knowledge and experience will certainly help young people to think about the many opportunities around us.
On the fourth day, we came to visit our businessman Sanita Zunda, who helped young people build their business ideas, analyse business ideas and define their goals. In the afternoon, young people were working together with a sports teacher, Maltese and the school director Sylvia Freiberga. The young people formed their own decorated stones and continued to build their own business ideas.
On the last day of the project, young people were working in groups, finished their work, which was presented and given to each other in the afternoon. A concert followed that day, followed by a festive cake and a discovery.
Young people were very pleased with training and would like this type of project to be organised next year.
Thank you very much for the administration of the municipality of Rezekne for the granting of funding, as well as for all who assisted in the implementation of this project. Thank you for the school cooks and technical staff. Thanks also to parish drivers Nikolaos and Eduards, and Sakstagala parish administration for co-financing. And, of course, thank YOU very much FOR Sakstagala J. Kco's primary school director Sylvia Freiberga and sports teacher Lāsmai Maltai for running lessons.
This type of project in Sakstagala takes place for the first time and hopefully it will become motivation to create similar projects for young people for the next years.
