12.09.2014

Projects

The Riga Technical University invites all stakeholders – practitioners, researchers and supporters – to spend one day in the atmosphere of the challenges and perspectives of the remote labour, taking stock of the good practice of other countries and discussing the possibilities of remote work in Latvia at the conference “Remote work – new opportunities for regions”. On October 2, Riga Free Port Administration conference hall, Kalpaka Boulevard 12.

At the conference, we will present the work carried out by 10 European Union countries “Micropol – remote labour centres outside the metropolitan regions” to promote economic activity in rural areas.

The experience of several Western European countries shows that the population is growing faster than in metropolitan cities. These trends are linked to the opportunities for information and communication technologies to work remotely and to combine the challenges of a “knowledge economy” with life in a peaceful and green environment.

In a conference with experience in the promotion of remote work, our colleagues from Finland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the neighbouring country will be shared. The Technical University of Riga, on the other hand, will present the study of the remote work and the action plan for the promotion of remote work in Latvia.

The working language of the conference - Latvian. The participants will be provided with synchronous translation, coffee pauses and lunch.

We are invited to get acquainted with the materials prepared within the scope of the project:
