Education

By the beginning of the 2010/20s, we were pleased that, within the framework of the “school bag” project, we can continue to know the nature, history, culture and art of Latvia.
The smaller children of the school went to Ludza – the oldest city in Latvia, who celebrated their 842 nd birthday this year. Between the small and big Lake of Ludza, Ludza's castle stands at the end of the hill, surrounded by a busy ancient city.
As part of the “school bag” project, pupils visited Ludza Municipality Research Museum, who is one of the most exponential museums of Latgale. Pupils participated in the museum pedagogical programme “animal kingdom.” Under the direction of the forest mother, the residents of Latvia's forests, waters and households were recognized, inspected the baskets of various animals, listened to the sounds of natural and natural residents, responded to the questions of the mother of the forest. The mother of the forest called for pupils to go in toys, count the counters, play a story with the movement, as well as introducing the richness of the Latvian folklore.
It was an interesting chapter where pupils had the idea of building and living in Latgale countryside – 19 th and 20.gs., surveyed the farmhouse, the smoke room, the ria, the windmills, and the pottery house – the workshop.
As part of the “school bag” project, classes 1-3 took part in the creative workshop of the Ludza amateur centre, where the chief was encouraged to think and speak about the lives of ancient people in Latvia. During the conversation, the pupils knew ancient tools, household objects, clothing, learned about the life of people in ancient times.
The Podnieks Eric Kudlis said about the use of the clay and showed the clay bowl process. Later students had a chance to create their own works from a clay pickup. The housekeeper introduced the process of making clothes. The pupils looked at the folk collection, the dance, the knitted gloves, the socks. He looked at the various tools needed in the garment process (stalls, spinning carts, etc.) and could do it.
At the end of the lesson, the pupils and teachers of the white-covered table were respected with flavour tea, bread and honey.
In the 4 th, 5 th classes, pupils went to the Androupenes rural exhibition and met 20.gs start-up latmeat lifestyles, as well as with various posts, tools and workshops. The museum employee provided information interactively, allowing students to play an active role using different antiques. The pupils worked enthusiastically at the stove and the furnace, with ancient kitchenware.
The pupils surveyed the layout of the house, surveyed the flax processing technology, and they experimented with different flax processing plants. The mushrooms, black, smoke sauna, and others were surveyed.
The pupils visited the blacksmith, where children tried different tools. He looked at the pottery workshop and the hat. Familiar with both colorful and black ceramic and the technology of its manufacture.
The Employee of Androupene led to the trail of the swamp, where he could study the unique ecosystem of the high seas and observe several plants, including a witch.
When he visited Kroma's college, the pupils met a variety of ancient Latvian guns. The owner told about the origin of the weapons, where artifacts were found in the territory of Latgale, after which analogues and imitation were created.
The pupils had the chance to feel and admit the soldier's outfit. Interestingly and interactively explained why these types of weapons and tools were distributed in Latgale in the 12 th century.
Then it was possible to look at the reconstruction of the castle, where children could explore different pile protection structures, could see how different rooms could look and how they were used. Students eaten the various elements of ancient Latgale life, including the acquisition of fire with the help of flint.
The children were most liked by the third lesson, when they put together elements of soldier's clothes, took imitated battle axes and swords (made from soft material) and participated in the reconstruction of the battle, the collection and protection of the palace, using different tactics and strategy techniques.
The 6 th, 7 th class students had the opportunity to visit Latgale art and craft centre and see two exhibitions: “amateurs in Latgale 19-20 th.” and “Livani glass museum”.
The pupils surveyed the exhibition on craftsmen in Latgale with interest, studying various artisanal tools, surveying ancient furniture, dishes, as well as the longest woven belt in Latvia.
Prior to the exhibition “Livonian glass museum”, students had the opportunity to visit a glass blowing workshop where different glass products are located. In the hands of the skilled masters, the hot glass pickup moved into a beautiful glass article. The museum's guide commented on the process and answered questions.
After attending the workshop, the pupils went to see a broad exhibition where they could meet the history of the glass factory and look at the glorious glass of Livans in all the rainbows: vases, glasses, plates, bowls, various decorative interior design objects.
After watching the museum, we tried to explore the Livans themselves. We looked at the interesting benches in different places in the city. As a real adventure, we had a relocation with a raft in the place where Latgale meets Zemgale.
After the Livani visit, the 6 th, 7 th grade students went to the hospitable Preiļi. to look at the new “metal art gallery” where the pupils surveyed the various motorcycles and other unusual articles from metal (sculptures, furniture, interior objects, table games, etc.), listening to the story of the museum creation idea and the various exhibits.
The gid emphasized that nothing is impossible, only to be afraid of dreaming and realizing their dreams. The guide, with bright examples, explained how the metal art gallery developed, how they started producing different souvenirs and cooking their chocolate.
This year, the project used the opportunity for a larger class of classes - for Classes 8-12, to visit Sigulda and its surroundings.
The Turaida Museum Reserve was selected as one of the sites. In guides, students were introduced to the historical structures and archaeological findings of the museum reserve. The older class pupils, with interest, listened to the story of the history of Turaida church and the buries in it, studying the collection of silver and copper jewellery found in the manor.
In the pupils' memories, the story of Turaida's Mayor, a good example, would serve as a good example of the work of Raina's beauty in literature. As they walked through the Dina Mountain, the young people knew the sculptures of the artist Indual Ranka. The young people had a chance to know the height of the baron trail as they climbed to the Gauja.
In the framework of the “school bag” project, students of classes 8-12 were also acquainted with the reconstructions of the Latgale archaeological park in the territory of the Araeological Park. The Park Park area had an opportunity to explore themselves. In the reconstructed dwellings of the stone and bronze era, on the island of daughters and in the buildings of the Asian Lakes, the young people had the opportunity to enter small houses, explore their own design, building their predecessors for architecture and construction of buildings.
During the visit, the Livonian 14-17 th-17 th-century pilots were also considered. Young people had the opportunity to compare the size and state of their already known pilots, to assess the consequences of human action on historically important sites.
Thanks to the “school bag” programme, this year students had a great opportunity to explore Latvia's history, ancient Latvian lifestyle, ethnography and nature. The valuable knowledge of pupils can be used in daily learning and social life.
