Looking for guest family pupils from Thailand, Italy, Germany, Honduras and Hong_Kong

Projects

Already in August, visitors from various countries of the world will come to Latvia to commence the school course in one of Latvia's schools and spend the year 2017/2018, learn Latvian culture, language and traditions. Families in Latvia have iespēj to become a hotel family for one of foreign students, thereby sharing their experience and traditions. The hosts are searched for young people from Thailand, Italy, Germany, Honduras and Hong_Kong.

Becoming a hotel family is a benefit for every member of the family. The guests enjoy the role of intercultural ambassadors, presenting their guests, young brothers and sisters with the traditions, traditions and national festivals of the country, which provide extensive knowledge as the family's younger offspring, its parents.

Latvian pupils arrive in Latvia through the intercultural programme of the non-profit organisation AFS Latvia. Within the framework of the learning exchange programme, the aim of foreign guests is to adapt to a new environment, to explore new culture and traditions, to learn Latvian. In order to implement this, the guests are living in hotel families and in local schools. The experience of several years in the world shows that most guests with host pupils maintain close and friendly relations after the end of the programme and visit each other.

The visitor Ruth Aukšpole from Nereta, who took two guests in the family that year, points out that, with the arrival of girls in the family, there had been a clear laughter of children, which had been a sign that everything was fine. After a year that Ruth had spent with her guests on her day, she acknowledged that she had learned better at this time with modern young people. For the best memories, the waitress calls all the time, conversations and joy that girls are very lucky.

Every family that is open to intercultural experience can become a guest family. The main responsibility of the hotel family is to receive a guest pupil not as a foreign guest, but as a member of his family, to provide a student with a place of residence and to do so, as well as to try to adapt the pupil to his day-to-day business and family life. It is an opportunity to show Latvia, its culture and traditions, to other people in the world.
