Signed contracts with LEARN contest winners

On November 1 of the Rēzekne municipality, a “LEARN event” was held, during which contracts on project implementation were signed with “support for the creation and development of companies in Rezekne District”.
In 2018, 26 business project applications were submitted for the project competition “Rural Economic Development in Rēzekne Municipality” (LEARN), from which the Commission decided to support 11 projects in total for EUR 30 811.6.
As the EXECUTIVE Director of the LEARN Foundation, Daina Butler, was emphasized, the project for this year was initially estimated at 28 000.00 EURO, but when assessing the submitted project applications and the contribution of their implementation to the strengthening of the economy, a further eur 2 811,16 was transferred to the competition budget from the LEARN Foundation foundation.
Six beneficiaries will start their economic activity, but five will develop existing business. The ideas are all sorts of things. Oscars Maculevičs (SIA “KUUP COFFEE”) decided to search for Latgale coffee flavour and create a specialised coffee roaster IN Lendžu parish. Edgars Andrejevs IN Gaigalavas parish will offer very topical wood-fission services. The funding received from Rasma pears (Griškānu parish) will be used for the training of young horses and for the organisation of sports development activities. Sanita Dikule – Dikale from Vērēmu parish will rebuild the work of the guest house “corners”. An interesting and topical idea in the field of tourism is Jānis Kupram Kaunatas parish – the establishment of a boat lease “Razna brekkis”. John will also offer an angling guide service, as well as offering fishermen - floats from Razna lake canes.
Six entrepreneurs will receive funding for the development of existing companies. The familiar designer Welga Krukovsky, owner of “VelgaCode” design and sewing workshop (Vērēmu parish) decided to expand his workshop. Production volumes are expanded by SIA “Slatek” in Berzgale, where bakery bakers are baked. The gardening will also be offered by the dricking Velga Sarmule – the financing is intended for the purchase of “Cukurella” confectionery and for the purchase and sale of fixed assets and equipment necessary for trade. The susceptible and persistent Baiba Flowers (Stružānu civil parish) will expand the range of services to be provided by Flowers Events. Jānis Kuzminsky (zs “TipTop”) IN Kaunatas parish will complete the harvesting works, while Einars Lipsky (Griškānu civil parish) will complete the activities of the music recording studio.
The winners of the competition were welcomed by THE Chairman OF the Rēzekne District Council Monvīds Švarcs, calling them the most active people of Rezekne, who are able to realize their dreams in life. M. Mr Schwartz expressed the pleasure that there were mostly young people in the competition and promised that the amount allocated to support entrepreneurs in the next year's budget would not be reduced, on the contrary, the possibility of increasing this aid would be sought. “I don't think there is another program in the country that would have such an active return as THE LEARN program, because this money is a real movement.“ The new entrepreneurs were also addressed by Edgars Blinovs, Chairman of the Management BOARD, and the Commission's leocekle, THE “development finance institution ALTUM” Head of Latgale region Vita Pučka.
The Commission Member of the Competition Commission, Jianis Yesko, invited anyone to find a knife in his company, a kind of “owl”, as he had done for himself. It should be noted that Žanis is one of the first beneficiaries of THE LEARN competition.
This is the fourth competitions organised BY THE LEARN Foundation for Rēzekne municipality. Establishment LEARN (for the development of the rural economy in Rezekne municipality) was established by the municipality of Rezekne and all 25 Rēzekne municipality parish administrations on 8 July 2014 with the aim of promoting business development and the activity of the population, promoting economic activity and ensuring the reduction of unemployment in the territory of Rezekne District.
