All Rēzekne municipality students in class 10 will receive portable computers

Already in February, the municipality of Rezekne ruled that in the new school year Rezekne's secondary school students, irrespective of the declared place of residence, would receive a portable computer in personal use.

On July 1, after a merger with Viļānu, there was a prospect of providing Viļānu secondary school students with portable computers. Additional funds are found in the budget for the purchase of 30 more computers, as well as 110 computers purchased by the Rezekne municipality for a total amount of 75,5 thousand euro. Currently, all computers have already been delivered and local government information technology professionals install the necessary software.

In general, computers will receive six secondary schools in Rezekne (Viļānu vcf, Maltas vsee, Kaunatas vsee, Nautrēnu vsee, Dricānu vsee, Lucia Rananes McKashan, etc.) Class 10 students who will be able to use them both for the modernisation of the day-to-day learning process and for the possible provision of remote learning.

Computers will be awarded at the start of training at Rēzekne High School in class 10 after 6 September, when the exact number of pupils will be fixed. With the parents or legal representatives of young people, the local government will conclude a contract regarding the transfer of a computer to the personal use of a student with certain derogations regarding the possible return of a laptop if, for some reason, the training will be interrupted. Finally, high school, the graduate will be able to keep the computer.
