Project objective: | revitalise the degraded areas owned by municipalities, transforming them into attractive and sustainable use. |
Within the framework of the project | the degraded areas will be cleaned and arranged at 5.53 ha in four partner territories – Rezekne municipality in Luznava, Daugavpils fortress, Kraslava and Paņeveu Skaistkalnis Park in Lithuania. In the municipality of Rēzekne, Lūznavas parish will take place in the park of the joint building park 1 dismantling and a well-equipped outdoor playground for children, while revitalising the area in 1.1 ha and making it a safe and attractive object for residents and guests. |
A significant part of the project is also co-operation, knowledge transfer and acquisition, so the specialists from Latvia and Lithuania – spatial planners, employees of the construction board and local government leaders – will participate in theoretical and practical activities, going into experience and training visits to the project partner territories by Latvia, Lithuania and other places in Europe – Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, and in cooperation with experts will develop four development concepts and action plans for the revitalisation of pilot areas. The project will lead to methodological manuals for spatial development planners |
