Thank you for your work for teachers in career consultants
Since 2017, ten Rēzekne municipality schools were involved as pilot schools in the European Social Fund project No 8.3.5.0/16/I/001 “career support in general and vocational education institutions”, in which students were given targeted career support – a set of measures that included the availability of information, career education and individual consultations for students to identify and plan their careers. His career support for a significant proportion of graduates showed an opt-out of education and work, which is a complex process in the modern changing world. Thinking about his future, looking at the target, every young man had, and will be, important to find answers to questions - what am i? What do i want? How to achieve this? Often, the answers to these questions were not found even before the school's graduation exams, when a career choice was to be made in favour of a profession. It is not less important to understand and define their future plans for those who planned to obtain secondary education, as the choice of “basket” also requires a vision of the future, the evaluation of their skills, abilities and talents.
During his five-and-a-half years in the Rēzekne municipality, his career counselors were provided by teachers: Edgars Yukna, Inara Mežatucha, Santa Vorkale, Maruta Krasnobaya, Dace Zagorska, Renata Sticāne. During these years, the teachers carried out a wide variety of duties in the course of these years - organizing awareness-based, career-based events, organized and guided by thematic classes, providing individual consultations to students of classes 7-12, together with teachers of subjects developed an hour plan, which included the development of student career management skills in the results to be achieved and conducted these hours. Of course, in order to strengthen the capacity of teachers' career consultants, self-education, supervisions and professional development courses were continuously held. Thank all teachers for their career consultants for their work on investing in the future of pupils.
