Combined: professions, environment, opportunities

At the beginning of the summer, a two-day career development support event was held for students “studying together: professions, environment, opportunities”, which also organized “tops on cook!”. The 5 th-8 th class students from Verham, Rēznas, Sakstagala Jānis KCo were primary schools and Nautrēnu, Dricānu, Maltas, Kaunatas secondary schools interested in environmental professions. The event was organised as a career and environmental expedition, during which students met with natural scientists.
At the beginning of the first day, Rezekne's senior environmental specialist, Theresia's aunt, told her about her profession and the role of the local government in environmental matters, so that the pupils learned of the issues that often seem to be elementary, such as whether they may fish in any lake and what is the procedure for obtaining a licence. Further, our path led to the water purification plants of the city of Rezekne, where the pupils learned of the water route from the consumer until they came back into the environment, visited the laboratory, knew the technological process, and learned how many different professions in the company were working. To enjoy the diversity and beauty we can see in the surroundings, we went to Anchupan Tower, where Geographical Ivars Matisov introduced the neighborhood, and the leader of the event told and showed what was hiding or Geocaching. She emphasized that people who engage in the Movement Movement will see much more interesting places and help build curiosity, develop orientation skills.
The camp of the expedition participants was “whites”, where a tents of tents took place in the area of the human child's park and took place “topi for the cook!”. The lesson was led by z/s “Krosle”, one of the directions of which is the provision of catering services, the handouts. The housewife Margaret Kalva's pupils introduced the advantages and disadvantages of cook trade, so that the meeting expanded as an inspiration story of the role of vocational education in the development of a comprehensive personality and career growth. Three different meals were prepared under the cook: a soup, grilled chicken thigh, and grilled vegetables. The pupils covered the table for lunch and enjoyed the cooked food. As the children acknowledged: the food had succeeded and all tasted great! The participants welcomed the lesson as the practice and cook narration revealed a variety of professional secrets, as well as providing comprehensive information on professions, education and professional competences.
In the afternoon, an expedition of the Rēzekne River Valley was held under the direction of Geographical Ivars Matisov, who was killed by the abrupt rain. At the time of the expedition, there was an opportunity to feel a new nature in the researcher's role, and to learn more about the profession and the different areas where it could work. On the other hand, the evening of the evening was devoted to stories of experience on the topic “occupation and hobby: how they help each other” and activities on fire related to art, sport and dance. With special enthusiasm, most pupils engaged in the dance of a teacher's career consultant Edgar Yukna, but some chose to rest after a long day.
At the beginning of the second day, there was an organized visit to the nursery “Sakstagals”, where the experienced cockkope Zaiga grain said about his profession, his career path, and gave the opportunity to know the work environment. SIA “Vlakon”, which is very wide-ranging: quarrying, ponds, fish farming, food production and hospitality services, was further visited. Students learnt what professions are working in the company, what knowledge and skills are necessary in performing their jobs where they learn professions. The excursion in the company was very versatile and interesting as he provided much information on various professions and gave a broad insight into the working environment. In late afternoon, a meeting was organized with the woodlanders Alexander Luban, who introduced the specificities of his profession in practice and provided information on the possibilities of learning. At the evening of the evening, SIA “Ameters” 's representative, Juris Kazaks, introduced all the professions of the geodesist, not only enthusiastically, but allowing everyone to feel the role of a geodesist and explore the instruments.
In conclusion, the pupils acknowledged that the event gave the opportunity not only to familiarise themselves with the representatives of different professions in an interesting way, but also allowed to play an active part in identifying the working environment and opportunities. Similarly, the self-evaluation of each participant's skills was encouraged and new skills acquired, new experience gained. Thank everyone who provided the event!
