The municipality of Rezekne will participate in the project “Volunteering City”

The municipality of Rezekne, together with co-operation partners from Portugal (Municipality of Aljustrel), Slovakia (Municipality of Banska Stiavnica), Greece (Municipality of Agia) and Cyprus (Athienou Municipality - leading partner), launches the European Union programme URBACT project “Volunteering Cities +”, which will be held until the end of 2022.

THE URBACT programme supports the exchange of experience and training projects for urban development, so the aim of this project is to create an active population group in Vilnius who will seek ideas and implement various volunteering activities IN THE Viļānu association, as well as promote cooperation between the local government and the population.

Voluntary work on behalf of the Community is one of the main forms of civic participation throughout the European Union, so it is important to carry out, develop and promote. A small group of members can also improve day-to-day lives in Vilnius and neighborhood parishes. Within the framework of the project, we will call on every citizen to be part of this voluntary movement - to tell and participate in their implementation. Follow the information!
