In early August, the COMENIUS REGIO project “Step2Peak, Activate & Respond2Kids – SPARK” organised a summer school – camp “my summer discovery” for talented and gifted municipalities in Rezekne municipality. The largest majority of the participants were selected after the results of the “talent of talent: we own!” event in April, thus attended by pupils from both the project partner schools – the High Schools of Verham and THE Maltas 1 st Secondary School, and from Audriņu and Gaigalavas primary schools, Nautrēnu, Maltas 2. and Tiskad High Schools. The total number of participants was 40.

Summer schools – the purpose of the camp was to try out in practice a variety of approaches to work with talented and gifted children, to film the ongoing film and to prepare a DVD in the final, which will be given to the schools of the municipality of Rezekne and the schools of the municipality of Sisak - Maslovina in Croatia.
In order to successfully use different approaches to work with gifted children and to achieve the goal, the optional schools of the gifted children, which are active in Riga (the teacher Marika Melne and Cynthia Bloommene), were invited. We also invited young teachers to contribute to the development of their arteries. Teachers and educators took care not only of educating and employing children during their activities, but also on a safe and emotional environment.
Learning activities were organised to develop characteristics such as targeting, deepening, cooperation, self-understanding, decision-making, openness and self-expression through a variety of approaches. By providing creative, interesting and physically active activities, practical workshops were also offered: mask-making, culinary, photo, experiment, virtual travel by Latvia, dance and various sports.
 Summer schools - during camp:
- the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the topic “on the way to stars” and “symmetry” were learned;
- the creation of creative and practical workshops that formed the design of the premises and reflected the performance of the activities, as well as stayed with the participants on the commemoration;
- there was a chance to dance Breik Dance and explore the foundations of the percussions;
- the possibility of checking their orientation skills in both the activities and the night trace was created;
- the results of the evening events were prepared;
- camp activities were fixed in photo and video material.
In practice, as in the organisation of non-activity activities, open-type learning methods were used which allowed each child to participate in the courses offered in accordance with its own abilities, interests, public activity and personality specificities.
